Introduction

Welcome to Govi Wallet. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle data when you use our cryptocurrency wallet application available on Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.

Govi Wallet is designed with privacy in mind. As a non-custodial wallet, we do not have access to your private keys, seed phrases, or cryptocurrency holdings. Your assets remain under your complete control at all times.

Your private keys are encrypted and stored locally on your device. We never transmit or store your private keys on our servers.

Information We Collect

Govi Wallet collects minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services:

Information You Provide

  • Wallet Preferences: Your customization settings and preferences within the application
  • Support Inquiries: Information you provide when contacting our support team
  • Optional Analytics: Anonymous usage data if you opt-in to help us improve the wallet

Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Private keys or seed phrases
  • Wallet balances or transaction details
  • Personal identification information unless voluntarily provided for support

Blockchain Transparency

Govi Wallet interacts with public blockchain networks to process transactions and display account data. These networks operate independently and maintain their own distributed ledgers, where transaction details and wallet addresses may be publicly accessible.

When you send or receive assets, the transaction is broadcast to the blockchain and becomes part of a permanent record. This information is not stored or controlled by Govi Wallet, and once confirmed, it cannot be modified or removed. Public blockchain explorers may allow anyone to view transaction history associated with a wallet address.

Govi Wallet only provides the interface to interact with these networks. We do not manage blockchain data or have the ability to alter transaction records in any way.

All transaction records are stored on the blockchain and cannot be altered or deleted. Govi Wallet only provides a secure interface to view and interact with this data.

How We Use Your Data

We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:

Service Delivery

To provide and maintain the core functionality of Govi Wallet across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.

Product Improvement

To analyze usage patterns and improve user experience, performance, and features.

Customer Support

To respond to your inquiries and provide technical assistance when needed.

Security

To detect and prevent fraudulent activities and ensure the security of our application.

Data Storage & Security

Security is at the core of everything we do at Govi Wallet. We implement industry-leading security measures to protect your data:

Local Encryption

All sensitive data, including your private keys, are encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored locally on your device. We never have access to your unencrypted private keys.

No Cloud Storage

Your wallet data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it. We do not sync your private keys or wallet data to any cloud servers.

Open Source

Our code is open source and available for community review. This transparency ensures that our security claims can be independently verified.

Regular Audits

We conduct regular security audits with third-party cybersecurity firms to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

User Responsibility

Govi Wallet is a non-custodial wallet, which means you have full control over your private keys and digital assets. Your wallet data, including your recovery phrase, is stored locally on your device and is never accessible to Govi Wallet or any third party.

Because of this, you are fully responsible for managing access to your wallet and protecting sensitive information. Unlike traditional services, there is no central authority that can restore access, reverse transactions, or recover lost credentials. Understanding and following basic security practices is essential to keeping your funds safe.

Secure Your Recovery Phrase

Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore access to your wallet. It should be stored offline in a secure location and never kept in easily accessible or digital form.

Keep Your Private Keys Confidential

Private keys provide direct access to your funds. They should never be shared, exposed, or entered into untrusted applications or websites.

No Recovery or Reset

Govi Wallet does not store backups of your wallet data and cannot reset access. If your recovery phrase is lost, access to your wallet cannot be restored.

Transactions Are Final

All transactions are processed on blockchain networks and cannot be reversed once confirmed. Always verify recipient details before sending funds.

Maintain Device Security

Use a secure device and keep your system updated. Avoid installing unknown software or extensions that may compromise your wallet environment.

Verify Before You Interact

Be cautious when interacting with links, addresses, or third-party services. Always double-check details to avoid mistakes or potential scams.

Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

01

Right to Access

You can request information about what personal data we have collected and how it is used.

02

Right to Deletion

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by uninstalling the application.

03

Right to Opt-Out

You can opt-out of optional analytics and data collection at any time through the app settings.

04

Right to Portability

Your wallet data can be exported and transferred to other compatible wallets at any time.

Third-Party Services

Govi Wallet integrates with certain third-party services to provide full functionality:

Blockchain Networks

We connect to public blockchain networks to broadcast transactions and retrieve balance information. These networks operate independently and have their own data policies.

Price Data Providers

Real-time cryptocurrency prices are fetched from third-party API providers. These services may collect anonymous request data.

Analytics Services (Optional)

If you opt-in, we use privacy-focused analytics to understand app usage. All data is anonymized and aggregated.

We carefully vet all third-party services and only work with providers that respect user privacy. We never share your private keys or wallet data with any third party.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. When we make changes:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • For significant changes, we will notify users through the application
  • Continued use of Govi Wallet after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
